ArtStorm Joins CC

Caroline Collective’s south building will serve as a creative commune for ArtStorm Houston, an organization founded in October of 2007 to fill the need in Houston for an accessible, approachable and affordable gallery space for emerging and unrepresented artists. ArtStorm believes that the best art comes from within and should not fall victim to issues such as sales, social standing or art world politics. ArtStorm was created by artists, for artists.

ArtStorm is extremely proud to announce that, this summer, we are moving to an innovative new space in the Caroline Collective building, in the heart of Houston’s thriving Museum District. Beginning in June 2008, ArtStorm will occupy two galleries at 4828 Caroline Street, just blocks away from Lawndale Art Center, the Center for Contemporary Craft, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, as well as the Metrorail’s Museum District station.

We’ll be using the newly renovated galleries for larger exhibitions and we’ll also be taking advantage of the communal outdoor spaces by offering live music, on-site art installations, and special cultural events. In addition to the convenience of ample parking in our very own parking lot, parking is available along Caroline and on surrounding streets as well, to better accommodate our guests.

You are cordially invited to our first event on June 7, 2008, when we kick-off local painter Patrick Turk’s explosive exhibition at ArtStorm’s new home. Come celebrate with us and see our new digs!
