This Saturday, November 15th, Caroline Collective will be participating in Houston SleepOut, an event to raise awareness and funds for Houston’s homeless.
Houston SleepOut, sponsored by SEARCH Homeless Services’ Young Ambassadors, is a first-time fund-raising event to be held on November 15, 2008. SEARCH’s Young Ambassadors group aims to communicate the issues of homelessness and transform lives by connecting with young professionals in a meaningful way. For a minimum $100 donation, individuals and teams will SleepOut under the stars in Sesquicentennial Park, promoting awareness and understanding for those who have no place to call home. Participants will raise funds by asking friends, family and others in their community to sponsor their commitment to the project as “Sleepers”, those who will actually spend the night at the event. That evening, participants will be served dinner and enjoy a “Faces of Homelessness” program in which individuals who have overcome their struggles will tell their stories.
This is expected to be a great event for an even greater cause, so we’re encouraging everyone to donate or get involved.
