Saturday, January 10th, ArtStorm will be hosting its latest gallery exhibit, Politics and the Weather, by Mindy Kober. Kober, a Houston-based artist, will exhibit new paintings and large-scale drawings on paper.
Houston-based painter Mindy Kober exhibits new paintings and large-scale drawings on paper at ArtStorm. In her work, Kober assimilates iconic American characters into unexpected fictitious environments, creating interesting points of dialogue between the subjects and the viewer. The artist often intentionally removes images from their context and rearranges them in new ways for the viewer to interpret. Kober’s provocative work is intended to encourage discussion surrounding new ideas about politics, colonialism, diaspora, nationalism and environmental issues. Politics and the Weather will be on view until February 7, 2009.
There will be refreshments and music by DJ P.  Come out and meet the arist, socialize with fellow Houston art-lovers, and enjoy this fresh new exhibit.
