Caroline Collective and Werkadoo.com are pleased to announce our first business workshop to be held March 11th at 6 pm at Caroline Collective. We all have a vested interest in seeing our peers and neighbors succeed in these tough times, so we’ve designed the workshops to provide support, advice, and assistance to the freelancers and job seekers of the Houston community. Topics will range from resume building, networking, and selling yourself to goal setting, honing your skills, and building your portfolio. We’re excited to begin bringing the community together and share in each others’ success, so mark your calendars, and we’ll see you there!

As part of Houston @ SXSW, the first workshop will focus on resume and portfolio building and preparing yourself to acquire new business. If you have a resume, please bring it, and if not, just bring yourself! We’ll have a guest speaker providing advice and tips for creating a quality resume, followed by a hands-on workshop designed to have each participant walk away with a quality resume outline in hand.

Werkadoo:

Werkadoo is a Houston-based web startup focused on linking freelancers and remote professionals with businesses that need their services. We allow freelancers to showcase their skills in an online portfolio, bid on projects from businesses, and make money doing the work that they love! We allow businesses to find, hire, effecitvely manage, and pay their remote workers all in one place, saving money on overhead and other administrative expenses.
