I would love to learn more about parodies. I have written new words to an existing song (Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to BE Cowboys). I’ve been told my song qualifies as a parody, but it seems it is a gray area. Any words of wisdom on this? I tried contacting the publisher of the song, but got no response, so a parody, requiring no permission, would sure be helpful, going forward. Thank you! Ann Bomerbach, Exec. Copyright – one of the most important aspects of art. It is important to produce art, but if you can’t hang onto the rights for your art, then you lose!
