New Day Rate

Like many coworking spaces across the country, Caroline Collective is adopting a day rate for drop-ins. We’ve been over and over the books looking at this, and we can’t just keep offering free space and all the other cool bits (wifi! creative peers! coffee!) forever and ever. Caroline hosts the largest (area-wise) coworking space in the United States, and it costs us about $18 a day to keep it open to the public. We now charge $10 for non-members to use the space.
We know. Bummer.
So here is the good news: all the events, business seminars, craft nights, parties, exhibits, bandcamps, and down home good conversation will stay right here, and will get better. Charging a day rate means we can funnel more money into the things that really make Caroline special. It is all about building community, and this just one more step in the process of making that community lasting and self-sustaining.

$10.00 for a place to work all day is unbelievably close to free! How could anyone not get excited about that deal?

Glenn,
Thanks for your support! Be on the lookout for more changes in this area. We’re unrolling a lot of things at Caroline right now. Without your feedback, we won’t know what works for the community and what needs improvement. Keep it up!

Caroline is a collective of great people who are all about the community and helping each other to grow. I am 100% sure that this charge would not be implemented unless absolutely necessary. $10 is very reasonable for all that you get from Caroline Collective.
