Looking for the sweetest internship in Houston? Look no further, compadre. Houston’s premier coworking space has your back.

Caroline Collective is officially opening up the search for our Intern today. The Internship is an opportunity for interested individuals to gain hands-on experience in business administration, community building, social media and event promotion. You’ll work directly with the Caroline founders, members, and community friends to advance the coworking movement in Houston. This is a great networking opportunity.

This means everything from day-to-day facilities work, financial activities, drafting communications, pitching our services, and contributing to strategy meetings. One of our main requirements is that you must be fun. Don’t worry about being micromanaged; this position allows you to develop skills in making decisions and being proactive.

Your first official day will be Monday, January 4th, 2010.

To apply, simply send your resume and cover letter to carolinecollective@gmail.com. To read more about the internship, visit the Internship Page.

Still not convinced? Here’s a word from the current intern:

I love Caroline Collective and I’m going to miss it a lot. I definitely want to keep in touch and continue to show my support. The best thing about this place is the people. I really enjoy talking to everybody and learning about them. I also learn a lot from them. This place is thriving with creativity and ideas.

Honestly, this has been the best job ever and I am super glad I got the opportunity to work here. It has given me quite a bit of insight into what it’s like running a business which I plan on doing one day. I hope to open a joint arcade and music venue within several years.

As another Caroline alum, I’d like to second Julie’s endorsement for working at Caroline Collective.

Interning at Caroline Collective is a rich experience. The people are smart, fun, tenacious, creative, and, most importantly, part of a growing and deep community. As an employee, the members you serve aren’t just your clients, they are your friends. They’ll offer up help where possible to further the goals of each member of the Collective, and that includes you, the new guy.

If that’s not enough, Caroline Collective runs through the nexus of vital groups that contribute to Houston’s rich cultural and economic fabric. Because I worked with Caroline Collective, I became connected to Houston’s music community, and Houston’s art community, and Houston’s technology community, and Houston’s media community, and Houston’s political community, and Houston’s small business community. This could go on.

Suffice it to say, that whatever your responsibilities–and you have a large say in shaping your role–joining Caroline Collective is more than just taking some “job,” its rising to become a more positive and productive member of the Houston community.
